Stephen Sondheim recently passed away. Across social media theater folk have been posting how much his work influenced them. One of my very first professional shows was ‘A Little Music’. I was so green, I was still figuring out how to be a costume designer. I fell in love with the piece. The sketch above was one I found digging in my old sketchbooks from around the time I designed ‘A Little Night Music’. From that show I was able to afford my first trip to New York City.
